Martin began his career as a child actor, working under contract with Central Television’s (now ITV) Children’s Department at just 11 years old.

He continued to work across stage and screen in a variety of leading, guest, and series regular roles into his early 20s. In the early 2000s, Martin transitioned into agenting and, facing significant barriers for working-class individuals to enter the profession, joined forces with his sister, Rachael Pacey, to carve out their own path in the industry, establishing the industry’s much celebrated Talent 1st programme.

Rachael brought a dynamic and varied background to their partnership, having started her career as a dancer before moving into comedy and later training in technical theatre and arts administration. Her multifaceted experience ignited a passion for championing young talent, and together, Martin and Rachael co-founded Talent 1st. 

Talent 1st became a celebrated organisation dedicated to identifying, mentoring, and representing emerging actors across the Midlands. Among its many success stories are BAFTA Leading Actress winner Molly Windsor and BAFTA Supporting Actress nominee Liv Hill, who were just 20 and 17 years old, respectively, at the time of their nominations.

Over two decades, Martin and Rachael have built a reputation as dedicated advocates for leading actors of all backgrounds. After closing Talent 1st in 2023, they established Arrowsmith Pacey.
